81 corvete not starting

sometimes when i drive the car around come home park it.get back in the car 30 min later the car want start the gadges work the power window work radio work but no start up just put a brand new battery in the car.the thing about i let the car sit for about 4 to5 hour.then i try starting the car again , started right up.what could be my problem.
