56 Corvette Upper Glove Box Molding

I ordered new chrome trim molding and clips for my 56 Corvette Upper Glove Box How do you properly install this set-up. I screwed in the clips, but am having a hard time installing the chrome trim. Does it slide down on the clips or is snapped into place at an angle. Any help would be appreciated.
