2003 WILL NOT CRANK OVER

WASHED ENGINE WITH GARDEN HOSE, NOW ENGINE WILL NOT CRANK, PUSHED STARTED CAR POPPED CLUTCH ENGINE STARTED AND RUNS FINE. SHUT IT OFF STILL NO CRANK . WAS STARTING FINE BEFORE WASHING MOTOR.
ALSO NOTICED CHIMING NOISE FROM DASH WHEN DOOR IS OPENED AND NO KEY IN IGNITION. CHECKED FOR LIGHTS BEING LEFT ON, BUT THEY WERE OFF.
