1968 Auto Trans "Bump"

I get a big "BUMP" when shifting from Park to Reverse of Drive. No problems other than that.

The car will sit at a light, no creeping...shifts from 1,2-3 no problem...no noise from the diff. All seems well otherwise.

Is this a problem with the Snubber Cushion?

Oh, not idling too high either

So I too have a 68 automatic and my tranny does the exact same thing. I haven't had anyone give me a name for it, but I have gotten the quizzical look from a many friends who help me. At this point I stopped worrying about it, and now after reading this blog, I see several owners have similar issues.
