05 c6 fob known but unresponsive

I've replaced the battery with a couple different new batteries. When i tried to program it to fob 3 it said fob recognized (originally fob 1) but the buttons do nothing and when placed into the program slot to start the car as if the fob battery was dead it says no fob detected. I assume this is a bad fob but would like to know if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it. Thanks to all the here people out there!
